Principal Job Description

Position Summary:

The Principal is the instructional leader and holds primary responsibility for ensuring the academic achievement of all students at high levels. The Principal will set instructional direction and develop and manage the school’s academic program and will support, develop, and evaluate instructional staff within the school mission and charter application. The Principal reports directly to the Board of Directors. Offering popular women’s necklaces such as pendants, chokers and. Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage the school’s academic program in a manner consistent with the school’s mission and charter application.
  • Guide the development and consistent implementation of a high quality rigorous standards based on academic curriculum.
  • Help develop and implement instructional programs, structures, and decision-making processes that support the vision, mission, and instructional philosophy.
  • Lead the faculty in continually improving the consistency, continuity, and quality of the school’s instructional methods and materials. 
  • Recruit, supervise, support, evaluate instructional staff:  b) Support teachers in using student achievement data to reflect on teaching practices and make formal and informal decisions about instruction. c) Create systems to provide ongoing feedback for and conduct yearly evaluation of all instructional staff. d) Collaboratively plan, implement, and support professional development of instructional staff as part of the schoolwide professional development plan. e) Nurture and promote teacher leadership in support of the school’s mission and continued growth and sustainability.
  • Work with the faculty to establish and commit to clear student achievement goals and provide direction and encouragement to all instructional staff in the accomplishment of goals.
  • Be directly responsible for evaluating student learning: supervise the collection and analysis of multiple sources of data and employ the results to continually improve learning and engagement among all students.
  • Ensure on-time and accurate reporting of academic results to families, and the Board
  • Develop and sustain a school culture and learning community that embodies OHCS commitment to cultivate 21st century learners with a strong sense of community through rigorous academic course work, diverse experiences, character development and leadership opportunities.
  • Establish and facilitate a shared leadership and management culture with a system focused on results.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, families, and the community. 
  • Ensure equity and high expectations across the school. 
  • Promote a culture of shared understanding and trust, where risk taking and reflection are valued.
  • Be willing to go outside of their job description to ensure school success including work on the weekends and after normal operating hours if needed.

 

Qualifications for the Position:

  1. May have a minimum of 3 years experience in education or related field.
  2. Shall hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  3. Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to motivate people.
  4. Must have a general understanding of charter schools.
  5. Must exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff , parents and community. Collaboration is a must.
  6. Must have a full understanding of the school’s curriculum.
  7. Must BELIEVE in academic proficiency for all students- regardless of circumstances.
  8. Must show eagerness to receive, respond to feedback, and evaluation
  9. Must have strong communication skills
  10. Must uphold the mission and vision of the school.
